Tyler was an avid volunteer with a passion for sports and broadcasting. He became involved with Bronco hockey as colour commentary but was asked to step into a full-time role of play-by-play commentator. He agreed only on the conditions that they would accommodate his extensive volunteer schedule. He was a wide receiver coach for the Humboldt Mohawks, basketball coach, co-founder of the Humboldt flag football league, VP of Humboldt touch football, and was about to expand his volunteer schedule by becoming a receiver/quarterback coach with the Northern SK Football Academy in Saskatoon as well as rebooting the Big Brothers/Big Sisters of Humboldt “Game On” program which had gone dormant for many years.
Tyler’s first love was with the CFL and he was the person behind the Twitter account CFL Daily, an aggregator of headlines and insights from across the league. Anyone who knew Tyler knew his passion lay with the Detroit Redwings, Boston Celtics, Saskatchewan Roughriders and, above all, the New England Patriots. His knowledge of all sports was legendary, and he loved to talk sports with anyone and everyone! He loved to pull pranks, had a wicked sense of humour and a heart of gold, and left a positive mark on everyone he met. He was a selfless volunteer, a mentor, and an amazing son, brother, and friend.
